A highly anticipated new dark fantasy anime is on the horizon! The broadcast start period for the TV anime “You Thought There Is No Way A Girl Like You Could Defeat The Demon King? So I Left The Hero’s Party To Live As I Pleased In The Royal Capital” (『お前ごときが魔王に勝てると思うな』と勇者パーティを追放されたので、王都で気ままに暮らしたい) has been set for 2026. Alongside this announcement, the first teaser visual and the first teaser PV have been released, revealing Ayaka Nanase (known for her roles as Stella in “Asteroid in Love,” Koharu in “Uma Musume Pretty Derby”) as the voice of the protagonist, Flam.
Teaser PV 1
The story centers on Flam, a protagonist who, despite having zero abilities, is chosen for the Hero’s party by divine oracle. The first teaser visual depicts Flam being grabbed by the collar by an unknown assailant, hinting at her initial struggles. The first teaser PV features Flam’s character voice by Ayaka Nanase. It begins with a scene of Flam shedding tears, and as the tagline “That despair will be reversed──” appears, a powerful shot of Flam wielding a large sword is revealed, teasing her remarkable transformation.
Today, June 29th, during the “GC Novels 11th Anniversary Program Anime Information Mori & Mori Special” streamed on ABEMA, these new details were unveiled, along with a special comment video from Ayaka Nanase. The archive of the program is available on ABEMA, and Nanase’s comment video can also be viewed on YouTube. Furthermore, the official anime website and official X (@omagoto_anime) have launched today. A special campaign is currently running on the official anime X, offering a chance to win an autograph board signed by Ayaka Nanase.
About “You Thought There Is No Way A Girl Like You Could Defeat The Demon King?”:
This dark fantasy series follows Flam, who, at the brink of despair due to her zero abilities, possesses a unique and mysterious power called “Reversal.” This power allows her to reverse her entire life, turning her fortunes around. The original novel is published by Micro Magazine’s GC Novels, and a manga adaptation by Jun Minami is currently serialized in Comic Ride and Raikomi.
A Message from Ayaka Nanase (Voice of Flam):
Ayaka Nanase shared her impressions and enthusiasm for the role:
“This time, I had the opportunity to read ‘Omagoto’ for the first time through the audition, and from the very beginning, in such a desperate situation, I couldn’t stop turning the pages as Flam struggled to survive. I think it’s a truly unique work, unlike what the title might suggest. I originally love dark worldviews myself, so I’ve become a huge fan!!”
On Flam’s Impression and Her Enthusiasm for Voicing Her:
“Flam is a cheerful, energetic, ordinary girl. However, as she confronts various malicious intentions and fate, I also feel that she often faces unfortunate circumstances. I’m working hard on the voice recording, hoping to show Flam’s various expressions, including her combat scenes and her age-appropriate moments! Please look forward to further updates and the TV anime broadcast!”
