Hina’s Plan: A Relaxing Day Before the Tournament
Hina invites Taiki to a nature park, seemingly for a private moment together. However, Akari, Kudo, and Niina also tag along, turning the peaceful outing into a lively group trip. Akari worries whether they should be out relaxing before the big competition, but Kudo reminds her that “everyone needs to breathe — especially Taiki, who’s been under a lot of pressure.”
The chapter’s cover illustration features Hina cuddling a bunch of adorable small animals — perfectly setting the mood for this lighthearted chapter.
The Drawing Event and Hina’s Playful Side
At the park, everyone gets excited over the small animals, except Taiki, who still seems distracted. When Hina asks him to take her photo, he does so quietly, showing his unease. To lift the mood, Hina suggests they all join a nearby drawing event.
Niina, whose parents are art school graduates, quickly stands out with her amazing skill. A nearby boy even calls her a “god-tier artist.” Hina, Akari, and Taiki’s drawings are average at best, but everyone enjoys the fun.
Soon, the group moves on to see the wild boars. Kudo teases Taiki, joking that it must feel nice for him to “meet his relatives,” leading everyone to draw boars. But instead of sketching animals, Hina draws a portrait of Taiki — causing a flustered reaction. Kudo joins in, turning Taiki into a chimera in his sketch, and even Niina, the “god artist,” draws Taiki’s face.
Akari’s drawing of Taiki ends up being fairytale-like and whimsical. Ironically, Taiki is the only one who seriously drew the actual boar. Though exasperated, he still accepts everyone’s drawings with a soft smile, warming the group atmosphere.
Akari’s Fiery Words
Later, when Taiki goes to buy drinks, Hina follows him. Meanwhile, Akari, Niina, and Kudo talk about whether Taiki seems to have regained his energy. They agree he looks brighter than when they arrived.
The conversation turns serious — Akari mentions Taiki’s inner struggles: his upcoming match against his close friend, and the rising power of underclassman Haruto. When Kudo casually comments that third-years are finishing up while second-years still have more time, Akari suddenly stands up.
She firmly declares that it doesn’t matter whether you’re a second-year or third-year — until the final match is over, she doesn’t want anyone giving up or letting go. “There’s no fire stronger than the one built from all the effort you’ve poured in,” she says passionately, surprising both Kudo and Niina.
Niina teases her for being “more intense than expected,” and Akari proudly admits it.
A Small Detour for Hina and Taiki
As the chapter closes, Hina tells Taiki there’s a special place she wants to show him, suggesting a small detour instead of returning to the group right away. The chapter ends with anticipation for their next quiet moment together — and hints at deeper emotional development between the two.
